    Chasing Ice is an award-winning film by American director Jeff Orlowski. It documents the efforts of photographer James Balog, whose work is focused on the relationship between people and nature.

    One dramatic scene in the film features a glacier roughly the size of of Manhattan collapsing (video below).

    The large mass of ice that broke apart on camera was more than 80 km2, captured near a glacier located on the coast of Greenland. 

    A YouTube video of this scene has been making the rounds on the internet for some time, often serving as a starting point for a lively discussion about the link between glaciers and climate change.
