WATCH: Mother elephant rescues calf from river

Breathtaking footage out of Kenya shows a mother elephant coming to the rescue of her calf in a rain-swollen river.
The YouTube video was captured by guest Sandy Gelderman while on safari in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

"Guide Onesmus Lesiata spotted the herd approaching the rain-swollen Ewaso Nyiro river," reads the video's YouTube description.
"With the river deep, mountain high banks are never easy for adults, let alone a six month old calf ... thankfully mum and her emergency swat team enacted a remarkable rescue."
The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a 90,000-acre) not-for-profit wildlife conservancy located in central Kenya. It is home to several species, including lion, buffalo, elephant, leopard and both black and white rhinos.
