Sunday, July 10, 2016, 8:50 PM - There's nothing like taking a quick dip in the pool to cool off during the summertime, especially if you're a furry little beaver.

This little guy was rescued from a Calgary golf course last month. The kit was found alone, well away from the water with a tail injury, according to the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation (AIWC).

"Our suspicion is that he was picked up by a predator and then dropped," Holly Duvall, executive director of AIWC told CBC.

Fortunately, he is recovering just fine and will remain under the conservation's care until he is old enough to be released.

"It's not normal at this age for beaver kits to be separated from their parents. They're very bonded," added Duvall.

Conservation officials estimate the kit is between four to six weeks old. He is taken out to the pool to drink and bathe several times a day.

A video of the beaver enjoying the water was posted to AIWC's Facebook page on Thursday and has since gained over 6,000 shares.

"He's pretty typical for a baby beaver. They love their pool time," Duvall told CBC. "He loves to groom afterwards which is a great sign. It's fantastic that we're seeing that with him."

The AIWC is exploring other organizations and different possibilities for the beaver's long-term care.

If you would like to 'adopt' him to support his care directly, AIWC asks to visit their website and select 'large mammal.'
