Time to break out the lighter jackets, head out to the garden and ... oh, who are we kidding?

This is Canada, and in Canada, spring is a variable season where cold temperatures, snow and ice pellets aren't uncommon.

The spring season officially started on March 20, but in some parts of the country it's been snowy and downright chilly.

Here's a snapshot of the climate across Canada this past week, featuring your photos.

NEWFOUNDLAND

There's a lot of snow on the ground in Newfoundland, with the fourth nor'easter this month barreling down on the region. This photo was taken March 18, 2018 in Carmanville by Sgal Lawlor.

NOVA SCOTIA

Parts of Nova Scotia are experiencing ice pellets, snow and slippery roadways as a powerful nor'easter moves through the region. This photo was taken on March 22, 2018 in Shelburneby Sue Deschene.

NEW BRUNSWICK

There's lots of snow on the ground in Pennfield, as evidenced by this photo taken March 19, 2018 by Denise Stewart.

QUEBEC

According to Adrian Niculcea, who snapped this photo in Pointe Claire on March 19, the wind chill was -15 in the area that day. Sorry, it's not getting much better through the first half of April.

ONTARIO

This was the scene on a section of Lake Ontario in Toronto March 21, as seen through the camera of Pyung Kyu Lee. The winter-like temperatures look to linger in Ontario through the first bit of spring.

SASKATCHEWAN

There's lots of snow on the ground in Saskatchewan, with more on the way leading into the weekend. Taken March 21 in Elkburne by Roy McGarry.

ALBERTA

All eyes are on the Prairies with a Pacific system barreling into the B.C. coast set to redevelop over Alberta. Taken March 21 in Pine Lake by Terry Richmond.

BRITISH COLUMBIA

Signs of spring are apparent in parts of B.C., with flowers blooming in the Vancouver area. Here's a photo taken on March 21 in the city by Kitty Yip. Flowers may have a tough time withstanding both the snow AND thunderstorm threat for this province this week.
