Wild Parsnip up close

67382 views Calvin Hanson June 27, 2024 Cornwall, Ontario, CA Date shot: June 27, 2024

A close-up view of a Wild Parsnip flower (aka “Poison Parsnip”). Several clusters of tiny yellow flowers make up the plant’s overall floral head. The plant can be seen along some roadsides and fields sometimes growing over five feet in height. With the recent rainstorms and warm temperatures, the plants are growing fast. Avoid the plant, because if the plant’s sap comes in contact with skin combined with sunlight it could cause uncomfortable burns and/or blisters.
