Friday, November 27, 2015, 3:25 PM - Thieves attempted to steal the same truck twice in one morning in southeastern Calgary, Alta. Tuesday, but heavy snow prevented their attempts to get away, the CBC reports.
Police told reporters the first suspects were only able to drive "a few feet" in the snow before crashing into a parked vehicle on a suburban street in the Cranston community.
They then abandoned the Ford truck and left the scene on foot.
According to the CBC, the truck's owner discovered his damaged vehicle which was still running. The ignition had been tampered with, so he was unable to turn it off.
The owner went home and called the police. While he waited for the authorities to arrive, a woman climbed in the truck and tried to drive away.
Shortly after she lost control and got stuck on a neighbour's driveway.
She fled on foot but police apprehended a suspect matching her description not long after.
Police aren't sure if the two thefts are connected.
