Huge chunk of ice falls out of the sky, crashes through man's roof

Friday, January 9, 2015, 4:52 PM - It's so cold in Chicago that the sky is falling. Sort of.
John "Sinatra" Conners arrived home from work Tuesday and found a chunk of his roof had been destroyed by three blocks of ice the size of a bowling ball.
His cat, who was home at the time and unharmed, was not impressed.

“When I walked into my apartment the chair that is normally against the wall was pushed into the middle of the living room,” Conners told Patch.com.
“There was ice everywhere. I could see the sky through the hole in my ceiling.”
Conners' home was the only building in the area that was damaged.
He believes the ice that fell into his living room was much larger when it made impact and there was about six hours of melting before he came home.
Conners' home is near O'Hare International Airport, so it's possible the ice came from an airplane.
The ice may also have been a megacryometeor -- a large chunk of ice that forms in the atmosphere, not unlike a large hail storm.
