Lion opens car door at safari park

Friday, March 6, 2015, 5:26 PM - There's a reason officials at safari parks caution visitors to remain inside locked vehicles at all times.

A video from 2014 is seeing renewed attention on the web this week after being picked up by several media outlets.

In it, a family at a South African safari park spots a female lion outside their car window.

The lioness decides she'd like to get a little closer and opens the car door with her mouth.

"Oh my gosh! I didn't know they could do that," one person in the car remarks after the door is slammed shut by a passenger.

The family is able to close the door and lock it.

No people -- or animals -- were hurt in the incident.
