Sunday, June 7, 2015, 1:39 PM - The world's oceans never fail to surprise humankind with the creatures unleashed from the seemingly endless depths of the sea.

But be warned - it's hard to watch the latest aquatic discovery without feeling your skin crawl.

A bright green worm-like being was spotted by a fisherman in Taiwan, wriggling around on dry land.

Believe it or not, it gets even creepier.

While taking footage of the strange sight, a tongue-like protrusion emerged from the long green blob.

The oddity is likely a type of Ribbon worm, known to grow in length from 10 to 50 metres long.

The species that uses a long proboscis to hunt for food and cover its prey in a thick, poisonous mucus which paralyses the victim.

Though typically found in the sea, they can also live in cool, damp spaces out of the water.

Wei Cheng Jian uploaded the disturbing footage to Facebook after discovering the bright worm while fishing in a port in Penghu.
